New Particulars Come to Light Regarding the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the tragic passing of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Alarm

A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the residence. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

Upon entering the house, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently detained and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The person close to the family questioned several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

Additionally pushed back against widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement also extends to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Timeline

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports indicated the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
