Passionate fans of the actress are urging that a man who leaped a barricade and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating clip depicts the Australian man pushing past media personnel and charging at Grande while the performers made its way down a promenade accompanied by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was due to be present on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.

Pattern of Incidents

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney performance in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is evidently a punishable act," wrote an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Grande's Safety

Several supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented one more response on Instagram.

Several fans also faulted security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others called for social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande appeared shocked when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.
